Sinularia Leather Coral

I was given a SINULARIA LEATHER CORAL that had been cut from the main stump. I have used a rubber band, Glue, and toothpick and it keeps rotting off just above the spot I tried to connect. What is wrong? Also all parameters are good.

The rubberband has always worked well for me. You might be wrapping the rubberband to tight around the leather. Make sure that it is placed in the lowest flow area possible while it is attaching.
