Hello every body it's me again, being paranoid about my tnak as usual.
I recently threw in a neon goby with my six lined wrasse and now the wrasse is chasing my goby away from the rock. I've also noticed that the wrasse seems to have taken a liking to my tiny fanworms too. :( I just wanted to to know if maybe I should get rid of the wrasse and maybe I should get more peaceful fish. I have a list of things that I want to put in my tnak and I want to make sure that they get along alright. i can live without the wrasse if that's what it takes to get the rest of my hopfuls in my tank
What I want:
percula clown
bubble anenome
peppermint shrimp
mushrooms
star polps
button polps
coral banded shrimp
maybe a purple firefish
what I have
neon goby (currently being chased all over)
wrasse six line
hermits
snail

Well for the corals and anemone you need around 5 watts per gallon of light.
Just the corals you want (polpys and mushrooms) 3 watts
The peppermint shrimp you want may get eaten by the six line. I think....
Your goby is the new guy on the block therefore the sixline is just protecting whats "his" That may change over time as he gets used to him or it may stress the goby to death.

i have a 6-line and a peppermint shrimp, both leave each other alone.. i know my 6-line likes to harass my arrow crab and vise versa.. but its my peppermint that goes ape sh*t on my l il feather duster...
and a coral banded is known to eat your fish... maybe get a cleaner shrimp instead

sO, I am not the only one who has ever experienced htis problem wiht peppermint shrimp.
As for the 6 lined wrasse, if it were me, I would get rid of him. We did our shrimp.

I have a six-line, they are great little fish in my opinion. But as with everything there are trade offs. As stated he decimated my pod population, and there was definatly an adjustment period. When first put into the tank he got into it with the clown and the cleaner shrimp, mostly the shrimp. It took a few days before they came to an understanding, no one was injured aside from a few hurt feelings. That is just my six-line, however, all are different.

okay so the peppermint shrimp can eat your little dusters. What about the big dusters? Do they get eaten? I was hoping to put ina few disters since the tank actually is kinda on the low light side until I can afford a better light.
I will probably get rid of the wrasse, maybe get a clownfish (percula sounds alright) or a purple firefish (incompatable with clown and neon goby?)
Also, I was wondering what aptipsia anemones look like. I have about three hundred of these tiny anemones all over the glass of my tank and they really multiply faster than rabbits. The are small and short and somewhat fuzzy looking at first glance with light pink bases and whitish clearish tenticles. they sometimes will grab the brine shrimp that I toss into the tank to feed the fish. They have big eyes and little stomachs cause the brine shrimp are about 18 times bigger than they are!
