Size of QT tank ??

I am getting a 125g to 150g tank in the next month.
I am wanting to try to use this tank as a new beginning and use the things that I have learned on this message board.
One of which is the importance of QT for new fish.
My question is what size tank do I need to QT fish such as tangs?
The QT tank will be upstairs so that may also limit the size.
The main tank will be on the first floor which is built on a concrete slab.
If people could list what tank size they use for QT, that would be great as well.

the larger the qt, the better. especially for larger fish, they will be less stressed. but as long as you have something, you are 10 times better off than having nothing. the stress they will undure for being in a small tank for a month isnt really a big deal - especially when compared to the benefits of QT

I agree with saltnOOb. You definately want a larger QT for larger fish. Most people (myself included) only use a 10 tank as a QT tank. I however have a small 55 gal tank and am not going to have any large fish in it so a larger QT wouldn't benefit me much. If you can do a 20 long or a 38 long that would be better than a 10 gal.
