Skilter fix?

Do any of you guys on here know a decent way to make a skilter work better? Is there a way to quiet the machine? Is there a way to stop it from filling the tank with bubbles? Is there a way to make the skimmer actually work? I appreciate any help.

skilter has a valve on it which lets air into system if you totally close this valve bubbles will cease and will quiet down but protein skimmer will cease to work depending on the size of your tank and amount of fish you can close valve or all but one day per week even then never open valve more than about half way
