Skimmer and t5 Light

Ok folks designing a frag system with 2 29x-tra long tanks, additional water containers, sump, fuge, etc. Total water volume would be about 160g. I'm looking for recommendations on a good affordable skimmer. Also considering a 4foot 4 bulb t5 light over one of the tanks, looking at the Nova SLR t5 (since the nova extreme is no longer available). Anybody have any experience with this light? Or recommend something else.

The Octopus skimmers are probably the best bang for the buck IMO.
As for lighting, I'd go with a retrofit from Icecap. You wouldn't need to overdrive the bulbs, and their reflectors are one of the better on the market.

Thanks Justin,
Couple questions - retrofit - doesn't that mean it goes into an existing light? Cause I don't have one, or can I simply attach it to a board or cabinet top using chains or something?
Any suggestion on a particular Octopus skimmer?

Yes, if you went with a retrofit, then you could s c r e w the components to either the top of a canopy or a suspended board. If a fully assembled fixture is more doable, then I'd go with the TEK before I went with the Nova.
As far as the Octopus skimmers there are many different models that will handle what you're looking at. Since it's only a frag setup and your bioload shouldn't be too high (might want to keep a blenny or something to control algae) you probably don't need something that is too far overrated either.
The NW-150 will handle about 180gal
The Extreme-160 will handle about 160gal
The Extreme-200 will handle about 225gal
