Tank's been up for about 3 months ... have LR and a few fish. I haven't gotten a skimmer yet ... should this be my next purchase or will I be OK for awhile considering it is a new setup?
A lot has to do with the size of the tank and fish. If the bio-load is heavy I would recommend buying the skimmer asap. Some people never have used a skimmer and have had no problems so again unless your bio-load is heavy it should be fine for a while.
I went with 50lbs or LR, 2 damsels and 1 foxface 2 months with out a skimmer. But Id still make it your next purchase. And true depends on how big your tank is.
