A used ASM G1 isn't worth more than $100 bucks used in good condition and fully functional. you'd want at least a G2 and preferably a G3 anyway for a 95g. I wont even get into what you should or shouldn't get, there are way too many capable skimmers and range of price/quality. A used ASM priced and sized right is a solid option. You dont have to have the latest and greatest to have a sufficient skimmer. Old school reef devils, turboflotors, ASM, older octopus (modded), euroreefs ect can still get the job done. good water quality, good foam production and nice aquariums didn't just start with 08' model skimmers. I equate the never ending trend to keep up with the latest greatest skimmer to buying pc's with the latest processors and graphics cards with most people just to doing the same net surfing and nudie girl downloading their 4yr old computer had been doing an excellent job of. I mean if you NEED a new skimmer and have the money for new one great but if you dont many older models still work well. If you get an appropriate sized reputable older model all you miss out on is $2/month eletricity savings, bling under the cabinet and an almost always nonconsequential gain in performance (your skimate cup pics and measurements may be better but the tank will likely look exactly the same). there ar people with remora's right now thinking they have the greatest hang on skimmer ever because their tank is doing excellent while using it so what is a deltec MCE600 going to do for them?
