Skimmer Help

Ive been having problems with my skimmer lately. It hasnt really been doing as a job as it has been when I got it three months ago. Whenever it sucks in water it kinda stalls and trys to pull it in again. Its hard to explain but its like it has trouble sucking water. Ive only had it for about 3 and a half months and Ive never dropped it or had any problems with it or anything. Should i replace the pump that powers it? It has a maxi-jet 1200 pump and the skimmer is a SeaClone 100. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Check Your Hose And See If It Has A Hole In It

I checked and the air valve is fine. There are bubbles inside of the skimmer, just not as much. It just has trouble sucking in the water.

Turn Your Valve Off And Let It Run Like That For A Day See What Happens Then Check Your Filter And Clean It

Try cleaning your powerhead and the ventri and airline to the venturi.

I think i heard somewhere that running your pumps in vinegar can help clean it. Will this work or am I going to destroy my pump?

Nope you should be fine but I would disassemble it and let it soak in the vinegar for a while then clean it and put it back together.
