Skimmer Help

hi, i have 36 bowfront tank that im building a sump for. the sump is going to be a 15 gallon show tank and has a bunch of different chambers in it for a fuge, baffles, skimmer + heater area, intake, and return. since the tank is only 24 inches long i need to find a good skimmer that wont have a huge footprint in my sump (skimmer can be hang-on too).
i figure i need 4" for the return area, 3" for the baffles, i would like 6" for the fuge, and 4" for the intake chamber where the filter media will go. so this leaves 7" inches left. the footprint of the in-sump or hang-on skimmer would have to be 8"X7" or less. does anybody know of any good skimmer that really pull alot of gunk but are also compact enough to fit in the 8X7 footprint? thanks.

Quick answer...No, for that foot print. Have you considered an HOB on the sump...A Remora Pro would be a good option.

yeah i was looking at those...they are really good from what i hear. i was looking at the ASM mini G but even thats a little to big for my sump. i wish my stand had more room underneath. but the remora pro seems real good and theres also the urchin which i guess is the in sump version of that.

I use ASMs and like them but you are right. All of them exceed your foot print limitations. I do not think you will be dissapointed if you go with a Remora.

yeah i think im going to go with a remora. they are pricey for a 15 year olds budget but you get what you pay for.
