Skimmer in 10 gal?

I have a 10 gal that I would like to setup as a hospital or quarantine tank. I plan to have crushed coral on the bottom and a wet/dry hang on filter. I would also like to put a piece or 2 of live rock in it. Maybe keep a small fish or 2 in the tank. Do I need a protein skimmer?
Thanks for the help

My 10g QT has a heater, thermometer, hang-on filter, powerhead, and some PVC for hiding places. That's it. Don't go too elaborate.

it's always good to stick a foam filter for your powerhead in the sump of your main tank and when add a new specimen to your quarantine just put the filter on the powerhead and you have the bacteria to breakdown amm, nitr and make it a better transition for the fish!
