Skimmer in Sump?

How does your skimmer fit into the sump since the bottom is longer(the air tube) than where water is sucked up into the pump?
round part pump, tall part where water is.

You can put a splitter,or divider wall in the sump. Sealing the sides and the bottom, but only as high as the skimmer input.Pump or syphon water into this chamber and it will spill back into the main sump.Thus creating a new chamber for your skimmer. STEVE
