Hi Everyone.. I decided to move my MRC1 skimmer outside of my sump... the reason really was it was just so tight where it was, and the pump inlet sucking water was pressed close to the glass.. So anyway I moved it out, started plumbing and then realized a huge problem!! I was planing on plumbing the outlet from the gate valve up, then over and back into the sump... but bringing the pipe up to the lever of the top of the tank will quickly just overflow the whole skimmer!! Luckily I thought of this before I did it. Now as I stand, without putting the skimmer back into the tank, what are my options? I was thinking putting a bulkhead on the side of the tank, about and inch above the bottom of the glass and plumbing the skimmer return into that.
Your ideas greatly appreciated!!!

Have you thought of getting a bigger sump or a split sump so you can keep the skimmer inside?
