Skimmer...no sump

I have read about people who connect their protein skimmers to their sumps...right??!? i think i read right! Anyhow I am not setting up a sump so I want to know what a good skimmer is for my 72 gallon tank. i have asked a few skimmer questions before on here and have gotten some good responses. I am looking for something under 300$$ that i don't have to worry about cleaning ALL THE TIME! i keep getting a very thin layer of the protein buildup and i can't take it anymore! I am getting a skimmer asap!!
What do people think i should get?!?

I would go with a Coralife Super Skimmer 125. It will run you $139.99, it works very well, and is very low on maintenance.

I am looking at it right now online...looks good to me. Do you know if I need to purchase anything extra to make it work..such as tubing or anything??

Awesome..yeah i have read other reviews and it sounds like a good pic. Thanks for your help. How often do you clean it? I mean not by recommendation, but you personally?

Once every few months it gets a full cleaning.
It is an excellent skimmer. I know no one that dislikes them or regrets buying it.
