Skimmer Or Not?

Skimmer or not that is the question, i bought a 29 gallon tank, i am planning to do a fish only tank, the salesperson at a big pet store told me i dont need a skimmer, for a second i believd him untill he told me i can put a dozen fish in the tank including a tang, that got me wondering, I would appreciate all the help i can get i am switching from 10 yrs of cichlid keeping. thanks

THANK YOU FOR CHECKING HERE FIRST!! You will need a skimmer. You wont have to go all out if you are going to have a fish only...you can get away with a semi-cheap one. As for the fish, you will get 3 TOPS.

Thanks, Can you recomend a skimmer ? What type of fish are you talking about?

I would recomend an AquaC Remora personally but they are a little on the pricy side. You might be able to get away with a Prizm if you get lucky. As for the fish, maybe a couple clowns OR a couple chromis. Please note the emphasis on OR.

You need a skimmer even more with a fish only tank because you don't have live rock and inverts helping to remove waste from the water.

AquaC for sure...I've got a 30 gallon reef..worth the money
