skimmer problems.

I bought a skimmer from someone, it came with an overflow and sump. Well inside the skimmer(tube) there is nothing and when it runs, it foams inside a little bit,but never comes to the top and overflows.aka...itsnot working.... What can i do?Ive messed with the air hose adjusting that,but nothing seems to be working. I had a Red Sea Prism that was hooked up and colleced alot of junk, buthtis larger one,. nota..
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

pro clear aquatics system is the name of the sump and i assume the skimmer caame with it, other than that there is no name on the skimmer. thanks for the move.

I have the same skimmer and the first one had a clog in the air venturie, most likely glue. It also takes a bit of time running before it starts skimming properly. Also DONT CLEAN THE INSDE OF THE PIPE ON THE COLLETIN CUP!:nope: The slime it builds up prevents the bubbles from popping. If you bought it recently, take it bake to where you got it and exchange it.
