skimmer question?

Hi I just have a quick question what does a skimmer footprint actually mean. For example 11.5x16. Is that width x lenth?

yes, it's the length and width. obviously hight is how tall it is.

Ok thanks. Also would that fit in say a 55g tank. I'm going to be building my own sump/refugium for a 180 aga rr that I'm going to be setting up very soon.

As a matter a fact I have to pick up my lighting this friday from my lfs which is 72" current usa outer orbit.

Should fit fine in a rectangular 55 gallon tank.

Thanxs guys I also have a few questions about the sump/refugium but, maybe I'll wait until I have the dimensions on the stand to see if the 55g even fits underneath there.
