Skimmer questions.

Im getting ready to purchase a skimmer. I was looking hard at the ASM Gx-1 for my 75 gallon. They sell it here on this site. On my 90 I had the junk you get from *****. Seaclone or whatever its called. I it put in a sump set up.
I know that a skimmer can make or break a tank. I was looking at the ASM GX-1 due to that I was going to get a 125 in the next 6 or so months and its rated to 150g.
My question is would the skimmer be too much for the 75? Can you have too much skimmer?
Im starting the process of my 75 as we speak. Just need the nod on that skimmer. If its a go i will purchase it tomorrow and then start getting rock and other stuff set up. My angel needs a bigger home and is showing no signs of disease. I figure if I set it up by next weekend the tank will be ready in a month or so.

Take any 'factory' rating for a skimmer and cut it in half. More depending on how heavy the tank will be stocked. Yes it's possible to overskim a tank, but that's talking about like a $2,000 skimmer on a 55gal. If you're set on the ASM line, for a 125, I would go with a G-4x.

I have a G3 with a sedra 9000 upgrade and it pulls some awesome skimmate (same pump as the G4)
I also have an EV 240 on the tank for some extra power!

I run an ASM G-3 (w/Sedra 5000) on my 75g reef, so it's hard for me to say the G-1X would be overkill.

I bought a ASM Gx-1 used. Looking to upgrade the pump. Im getting my 75 together asap this was a great deal. I notice some of you have the sedra line. What would be a good pump from them? Or would you have used another pump?

If my stand was big enough I would have bought something similar to go in my sump/fuge, but I am contect with my Remora Pro. It does an amazing job for a HO w/ the Rio 1400

what size pump should I put on this thing? The stock 3500 or upgrade it? Im buying one asap so i need a quick answer
