skimmer re-break-in?

I had to treat my tank recently and was told to turn my protine skimmer off while doing so. a week later when i turned it back on i have a ton of micro-bubbles. since the unit was off for so long dose it need to re-break-in like it did when i first got it?

Mine did this when I turned it off for awhile. I am about to install it again and I am expecting the same results.

Yes. Just like when it was new, just like when you take it out and give it a good cleaning. You gotta get that slime layer built back up.
