Skimmer & Sump Questions

I have a 90g tank and a 30 gallon sump that I purchased used. The previous owner didn't use a skimmer. I want to use one but am I going to have change my plumbing to add the skimmer? Another problem i have is the previous put in an auto top off section in the sump so it makes my area where i can put a skimmer really small, like maybe 8 inches. I'm not sure if i can remove the baffle or not to make more room. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

It depends on how the sump was made. Was it a DIY made sump or a manufactured sump made out of acrylic? Can u snap a picture? If there's a will there is a way to do anything.

Here's a bad pic of just the sump, not the refugium. The auto top off section is the back portion of the pic.

Great, I'll give it a try. As for plumbing, do i have to add anything to add the sump.
Depends...could use a little more info on your system. Is the tank already drilled for plumbing? You don't have to add anything extra if you run an internal skimmer...you just set it up inside the sump and make sure it's at the recommended depth.

Yes it's drilled and already and came with the plumbing. The previous owner just didn't have a skimmer. I've never had a sump before so this is a little new to me. Thanks for your help.

No prob. It sounds like you're pretty much already good to go. Just need to add the pump then hook it all up and throw in your skimmer. Did you say you plan on having a fuge in their too?

It even came with a pump(Ikawi). It does have a refugium which I know nothing about. It appears to have some live rock in it. What else goes in there?
