Skimmer US Aquarium

I am new to this hobby and I have a question about a used skimmer I purchased.
I have a US Aquarium 20" venturi style (hang on) skimmer. I set it up and adjusted the flow to get foam to go into the collection cup. But now there are thousands of micro bubbles in my tank. Is this normal or will they go away in time? It really looks bad.
Also the foam is white but someone told me that it might take a few days before I see color in the foam.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Todd
PS: 20 gal., Reef only, 2 months old.
Feather Duster
Hairy Mushroom
Blue Striped Mushroom
Bubble Coaral
Brown Button Polyps
Crabs
Snails
All tests are in the normal ranges
Im having a blast so far! :D

One more qustion, Do I need to turn off the skimmer when I add iodine and calcium supplements? I also feed with liquid invert food. Thanks again!

You should adjust the air down...You have it set too high to start the skimmer. After a couple days you should be able to start slowly bringing it up so you get a dirty/dry foam in the cup...Most skimmers take a few days for a breakin period...And YES you should turn the skimmer off for a few hours after you add suppliments to the tank...
