Skimmer went out

I treated my tank with red slime remover and did not turn off my skimmer like the guy at lfs told me to and the instruction on the box. So the motor went out. Do I have to buy a whole new skimmer or can I replace the motor? It is a finnex ps-60. I went on finnex web site but did not get any help.

Take the pump off of the skimmer and remove and clean the impeller area out. There could be debris caught up in the impeller or impeller housing area. Fill the sink up and plug it in to see if it works.
