skimmer ??

Just getting my tank going.It's a 75gal w/110 pounds of LS and a little LR.The LS has been in about 2 weeks.Tested the water for ph,ammonia,nitrite,nitrate looks good.BUT when I turn my skimmer on I can fill the waste cup in about 15 minutes!!Whats up with this.Should I wait till the tank cycles?I used this skimmer before when I had FO a couple years back and I don't remmeber.

It sounds like you need to cut back on the flow rate. What kind of skimmer is it? If the collection cup fills in 15min, I would cut back the flow. HTH--Bob

I agree with Bobber, it needs to be adjusted because its prolly filling the cup with water.

It's by Acylic Creations,Sylvania Ohio.Powered by a Rio 2100 from about 1 foot.Whats going up in the tube is foam.TOO MUCH ?? Should I put a valve on it??

Also if you have added anything that produces slime(Novaqua,slimecoat,etc)the skimmer will produce to much foam. Some other liquid additives also have the same reaction. If you add these,turn off skimmer for about 2 hours. Most will say on the bottle if you should turn off skimmer.
