Skimmer

Ok I got my Tank it is 125 gal. I have about 2 inches of LS and 20 lbs of LR ( slowly getting more) Do I want to have my skimmer on? I never had one with my 55 gallon I had. I know I am alil low on LR and LS but I will get more in there. ( ran out of $$$$)Now I have no filtering device will I need to get one as well? From what I have read I only need LS and LR. ANy help would be appreciated. Thanks

Actually I answered my own question. I don't think I should be running it on a new tank setup. I never had live rock or even LS but upon waking this morning I see I have a few shrimp in there messing about. Kinda cool..

If you want to preserve as much life as possible on the rock leave ther skimmer on. If the rock is already cured you should not see a cycle anyway but slowly add anything else you put in the tank.
