skimmer ?

i have a coralife ss 220 and i just got the pump for it (didn't come with one) so i got the stock pump for it and it won't suck in any air when hooked up the the skimmer if i unhook it from the skimmer it will suck air in no problem but not when hooked up to the skimmer what am i doing wrong?

yes it supposed to suck in water but it has the airline tube also and won't put air in with the water when hooked up to the skimmer....

The tube has to be above the water line, and there should be a valve for adjusting air flow.

its above the water line and i have it open all the way as soon as i take off the connector hose to the skimmer it will put in air when its back on no air

Jaejae...I have used coralife skimmers in the past. I had a similar problem when the 'silencer' was blocked and did not allow air to get sucked in. I would consider removing the plastic silencer...it is a round plastic piece as I remember...then connect the air tube directly to the pump attachment..it should work....There must be something obstructing the air flow...no other explanation......good luck
