Skimmer

I have a 55g with sand, live rock, 2 tomato clowns, 1 royal G, 1 brittle, 12 blue legged hermit crabs, 2 turbo snails, 5 peppermint shrimp and 1 flaming scallop. I use a wet/dry with the heater in the sump. Do I need a skimmer? Some people say yes, others say no. Comments please.

You don't need one but I would say once you get one you'll be shocked at all the yuck it pulls out of the tank.
My skimmer is the main part of my system and would never go w/o one.....

Yes, you do not "have" to have one I suppose, but it is worth the investment, I would not go w/o.
