Whats the difference between the reef octopus 6 recirculating skimmer and the reef octopus Needle wheel 6in? I'm need a new skimmer and they look almost the same but about $100 price difference. I just want to know what's so different and is it worth the extra money for the recirculating one. Thanks.

recirc skimmers can be mounted inside and outside a sump, and require an additional pump and plumbing to operate. Recirc skimmers have been known to produce finer bubbles.
Needle wheel skimmers are pretty much in-sump only. They both work pretty efficiently for the price. It all depends on where you are going to put it.

In dump. I've been researching them all night and I think that the needle wheel will be sufficient enough. 75g with 30g sump. Now I just have to decide weather the 8 inch 750 gph is worth it over the 6 inch 500 gph.

It's the different size skimmers they have and the bigger one has a bigger pump. I actually settled on a skimmer I'm getting next weekend at our local spring expo.

I'm getting a SWC 160 extreme. They have a really small footprint for an In sump design so I can make my fuge bigger.

good idea....make sure the skimmer section is BEFORE the fuge, so live critters and beneficial things in the fuge dont get sucked up by the skimmer.
