We are fairly new to sw tanks and I keep reading on different messages about skimmers on the fish tanks. We have a 55 gal and we don't have a skimmer do we need one? Thanks for an and all help in advance.:happyfish

Skimmers are very useful. They remove dissolved organics before they have a chance to breakdown to nitrates. Any system will benefit from running a good skimmer.
