My mandarin dragonett arrived skinny. I assumed he would eat in the live rock. The SWF.co website says they eat microfauna. He appears to be picking at stuff on and around the live rockbut he isn't getting fatter. My question is; What is microfauna and how do I know if I have any?:help:

Mandarines eat copepods and need plenty of live rock as they often will not eat prepared/frozen foods. Occassionally one can get lucky and get a manderine that will eat prepared foods but this is not common. I was lucky in that after a few weeks both my manderine and scooter blenny started to eat prepared foods and now will eat almost anything but initially I fed mine live brine to supplement the pods it was getting from the live rock. Good luck with it.
