Skunk grouper help

maybe he just ate a lot? my firefish is about that size, and after feeding, the sides of his stomach bulge out in these weird lines. looks very abnormal.. but it goes away.
if you're not sure, maybe dont feed him for a day.
do fish get constipated?

I know I have seen plenty of lionfish, who after eating get huge bumps in their stomach. These "food bumps" tend to go away in a day or so. But, could the fish have been stung by an urchin, and its actually a welt?

How about posting a photo or two?
How often, and what do you feed the fish?
What are its tankmates? Anything gone missing?
How long have you had the fish?

How much do you feed the tank in a single feeding? You should be feeding an ambush pred around 3x a week, not every day, altho with a juvie, you could go every-other day. Since the fish is a tiny juvie (adults reach about 2.5 feet), and not sexually mature, I'd have to say the fish is not gravid. Try backing off the food and see if the fish loses weight. Does it seem to be swimming normally (no buoyancy problems)?
