sky high nitrites help

HELP: My tank is just under a year old hand has been doing great. But over the last few days I have been losing fish. I tested my nitrites and they were aroundd 10 ppm ouch. I have know idea how it happened. but any ways on to the question: How can I get the nitrites down quickly?? and how can I save the fish I have left?? I just did a water change today and it has only lowered slightly. please help the life of my fish is at risk.
also:
tank is 110gal
reef
about 100 lbs of lr
we have a skimmer
and 2 hang on the back filters
all other leverls are fine.

well either you are overfeeding or you added some new fish .what did you add too make them rise

Never heard of nitrites rising without something being done to the tank.
Like the above post mentioned over feading or adding a fish could possibly do it. Removing any substrate or live rock could possibly make them rise also.
If something is dieing or decaying that could do it also.

well there is 0 ammonia in the tank. Do you think I should remove everything from the hang on the back filter?(being the charcoal pack and the spongey thing?? The water appears to be moving through it. I'll try to find another air pump so I can get some extra air in the tank. Thanks alot. If there is anything else you can think of that would be great. Oh on a side note I have done like 3 waterchanges since my original post. The levels have been droping a little.
