i have an sl-15 wet and dry filter,my problem is that the bio-balls chamber keeps filling up with water so the balls are under water. its like the return pump can't keep up with the flow. any idea how to fix this problem its driving me nuts. :)

Im pretty new at this but I think you might have too much water in your system. Dont know exactly how your setup is though. Mine float if my tank is too full.
If that fixes it, I finally pay back for those that have helped me. Yeah. If not, Ill try again.

Are you using an overflow box? If so you will have to raise the box inside of the aquarium to slow the flow. There are other things to do also, but, I don't know what you have tried.

I've never used this type of hang on the back wet/dry system.
I did read a little about it in a magazine advertisement.
Looks like it has two small Rio powerhead/pumps, and some sort of built in flow switch to regulate the water level in the filter.
I guess this flow switch is there to balance the flow in from the skimmer's pump, with the flow out of the sump's pump.
Sounds tricky to me.
If you're having problems maintaining the right water level in the bioball chamber, I would look to this "switch" as the culprit.
Sorry I don't have any other suggestions.

I use to run the same w/d on one of my tanks, there are a couple of thing to look at, the return pump that sit in the bottom might be getting cloged up or it is just getting old, check and make sure the flapper in the bottom is working right, and last raise the gate between the skimmer and bio chamber up this will cut down on the flow. Hope this helps. Good Luck
