i have now spent an hour trying to tweak this stupid *** seaclone 100!
the bubbles almost go all the way up! but then fall back into the water.. i have tried cleaning the air adjuster, cleaning the cup, and cleaning the sponge.. nothing works..
anyone have a seaclone 100 that actually works?
better question... anyone have one that they dont have to adjust every freakin hour when they do get it working???
possible solution: sledgehammer!
or hey jerth.. maybe i will boil it! haha

yea im just upset that i wasted the money, waited the "Break-in-period" time and now cannot return it.. I emailed the manufacturer and gave it to em without any lube!
if they wont take it back, im gonna be sure to burn it and ship it to the president of the company along with a small amount of k-y so they can at least lube it up before they screw me again..

Nicely said. That is why I got rid of my Seaclone. Luckily for me ***** let me return it. It was too loud and putting bubles into my tank. I use the Coralife 65 with no problems

screw the knob that ajust the air all the way down then slowly unscrew it until you get the tornado effect. usually the skimmer noise will get slightly louder the bubbles will come up but it might be a few days before you get any waste.

I have a seaclone 100 I use on my 75 and when I first got it I hated it but I modified mine and now it works great. It is kind of tricky. You have to cut the small tube on the inside of the skimmer down about 3 inches and you will get a lot more bubbles which gives it more pressure to push waste water into collection cup. Do a search on google for seaclone modifications. They are worth it. I get a full cup every 3 or 4 days.

I honestly must be very lucky. I've got a Seaclone 150 on my 110g and never had any problems out of it. Looks like it slows down from time to time but still have to empty it every 3 or 4 days which I take it is fairly normal.
Just got a Seaclone 100 for my 56g a few days ago and am actually having to empty it every day or 2. Of course this is a more aggressive tank so higher wastes. The 100 is still louder than my 150 but my wife said our 150 started out that loud and quietened down after a couple weeks. I can't remember that far back

well it shouldn't take 4 weeks to start working but one way to ensure it doesn't work is adjust it every hour or three hours for that matter. Close it completely then open close to all the way open. leave it for SEVERAL DAYS. If its still putting bubbles in the tank or not skimming close it a quarter turn and wait again several days. then close it half way ect and wait several days. In my tank mine works best nearly all the way open, doesn't put any bubbles in the tank once the water has settled/stablilizes (it will spit bubbles in the tank for several hours after a water change or alot of messing around in the tank but after several hours the bubbles subside. I dont even have to adjust mine anymore, just set it to nearly all the way open after waterchanges/cleaning and it works like a charm. Maybe I'm just lucky.
If the tank hasn't been up and running for at least 6 months and if it only pulls stuff out for a few days and then stops for a week or two before working again that is normal. That will change once the tank is more established.
I'm tired or taking pictures of it but here's todays offering (taken today) which looks just like it did from the pics the month before and the month before that. Its only a 30 gallon with 3 small fish/corals and a consistant zero nitrate reading so I dont expect it to fill the cup but this is after a week or two (I did a water change last week but cant remember if I cleaned out the cup).

That is the same on mine. As a matter of fact, on my 150 it is only tightened just enough to keep it from falling out.

well, i tried some mods on it, and we shall see how it works.. so far no good, but i guess i will wait a day to find out it will still not work... i dont get it.. what kind of a skimmer needs a whole day before the adjustments take form?? oh yea.. A SEACLONE!
called customer service and noone answered.. of course! so i left em a message thanking them for taking my money for this crappy product.. good thing customer service is not their priority at all!
