i just bought this sleeper gobie and hes really cool. He takes a mouthful of sand, shakes his head a little and spews it out his gills. However, I think its making the water a little cloudy. I use a marine land HOT Magnum filter witha seaclone protein skimmer ona 29 gallon tank. there are only two other fish, a little false percula and a yellow tang. The tank is established and has been for about four months. Any suggestions?

Well you certainly are not going to change the goby's sifting habits. I have one in my 29g tank that does the same thing..but my water is crystal clear. I don't have an ultrafine sand bed though - using Carib Sea Special Reef Blend sand. The only thing I can think to do is to put some type of polyfilter in your magnum that will filter the fine particles out of the water. Other than that there isn't a whole lot I can think of to do.
How old is the tank? Young tanks will go through a stage where the water looks cloudy. But as the bacteria build up in the tank and on the substrate, the cloudiness disappears.
