Found some awesome new critters on my live rock the past few weeks. Tiny feather dusters! Breeding like crazy, I have atleast 5 inside the tank.... now the odd part. I haven't added any live rock in almost two years!!!! Could they have hitched on a coral? Only thing nearly new is a gorgonian I picked up at the start of summer.... just weird, but kind of cool!

These small feather dusters (which stay quite small) are some of the critters that 'bloom' from time to time. You usually always have a few individuals, and sometimes conditions are ripe for a bit of a population explosion...then they tend to die back. The same is true for the "q tip sponge," vermetid snails, spirorbid worms (little spirals on glass), and a whole host of other critters.

Quite sure its not aptasia.
I'm just thrilled, a few are just a tad smaller than a dime. Though they aren't open as often as most feather dusters usually are. Just amazes me that suddenly they appeared without any new live rock introductions. Pretty Cool :)
