small sand-sifter?

Anybody know of a smaller species of sand-sifting gobies? The only ones I've seen grow like 5-6 inches or more, and my tank is way too small for that size fish. Thanks in advance!

i was thinking that as well
the diamond goby and someone said either tiger goby or yellow headed gobie do it cant remember which one, but they get 2-3 inches
i ended up with a bi color blennie instead

bi-colors don't sift though---and yello sleeper goby gets over 6 inchs--i don't know what kind you can get that sifts that stays small(under 6") What size is your tank?

29-gallon, that's the problem. A 6-inch fish definitely isn't going to thrive in there. I thought diamond gobies got about 5-6 inches, same with tiger gobies. Anyone?

Found one for you!!! It's called a 2 spot goby AKA twinspot, signal or crabeye goby--it is a sand sifting goby and maxs aout at 3" :yes: maybe u can try that one. That is the only one I could find that was small and a sand sifter----GL :jumping:

ya i know bi colors dont sift sand, i just kinda gave up, maybe if i can find something ill catch him somehow

Twin spots are really cool.. I havent had good experiences trying to keep one though so I quit trying
Go with a yellow watchman + pistol shrimp.. then you get super sand sifting action + interesting conversations about their relationship!

They can be a bit tricky--but if you get shrimp pellets that sink it helps--otherwise the other fish eat it up b/f it can get to the bottom for the 2 spot. Either way you go---GL :happy:
