I started up a 10 gallon tank in my new apartment. Im in college and they don't allow fish tanks so i have to keep it small. I have about 10 pounds of live rock in there also some crabs. I would like to add some 2 Percula Clowns. I would also like to add some clams and anemones for the clowns. What can I add and what cant I add? I want to make this small tank pretty nice. Also I heard there is a way to get the purple alge to grow on the walls of the tank what do I need to add for this to happen. Also what should I do for lighting right now i just have my POS bulb from the freshwater tank that it use to be untill about 2-3 weeks ago
Sorry about all of the questions but i had a limited amount of money i could spend on my 75 gallon tank and when i wne to schoo my dad fucked it up so its coming down sometime soon and being out into storage untill i get out of college and set it up again.

I kept a 10 gal nano for about 8 months, with 2 occelaris clowns, a bta, l/r and even a small peice of torch coral in it. I was using a single powerglo fluro strip, only about 16 watts, it was straight from a fresh water set-up. It lit the tank up like a stadium, probably because the tank wasn't very tall. This was my first s/w tank, and it was a bit of an experiment, but it worked. I would have eventually needed to upgrade my lighting because of the bta, but everything was going well until one of my 2 hermits crawled under a piece of liverock and died, which crashed the tank and killed off the fish.
I was using a small hob filter and a small pre-filtered powerhead, along with about 10 lbs of liverock. Personally if I was going to set it up again I would skip the bta and the hermits. As for whether the tank is big enough for 2 clowns to be comfortable in is probably a matter for debate - mine seemed quite happy in there, but the more I think about it the more I think that 2 clowns probably deserve a bit more space. I replaced the clowns with a blue damsel, and transferred everything over to a 40 gal tank, but I'm already thinking about setting the little tank up again, even just for a qt. Hope this helps.
