I have a bunch of these small white star fish in my 29. I have never had any luck keeping zoa's in my 29. I recantly have been seeing my zoas in my 55 geting less and les pulips on them. I found 4-5 of these star fish in there so far and have removed them. I move corals frags from one tank to the other alot. so they could have hiched a ride over. will these star fish eat zoas?

Do you have any pics?? Probably asterina stars. I have several in my tank and have had no probs with them. Its probably not them causing the damage. What are your tank params?
Someone else may chime in on this.

It is entirely possible that you have a questionable species. It is NOT common at all - not all Asterina are problems.
However, I would strongly encourage you to consider other explanations as well. Do you have a lot of corals?

Yes I have a tank full of soft corals Many zoas mushrooms finger cabbage xenia toadstool yellow polyps green star Ric's waving hand and I am sure some others. They all have been in there for about 7 months maybe some longer and some less. water parameters are great the only coral showing signs of trouble are the zoas like something is chomping on them at night. These stars look like those posted on here by others.
