smallest crown on a LG feather duster ever

ok so about 3 weeks ago one of my feathers threw its crown, they have done this before I dont know why it did it but I left it alone it had a large beautiful; crown that was purplish and little white zigs on it. here are two pictures , this is the smallest crown most uneven crown I have ever seen on a large feather duster. (yes the mandarin is still in their I cant catch the little bugger, poor guy is starving)

when my feather duster threw its crown it grew back a tiny little crown like that. but after a couple of weeks it became full again

when my other feather threw its crown it grew back a double ring twice the size of it original crown so this kinda suprised me.
