smallest tank for queen angel

IMO a juvi would be fine in a 75 or 90, but an adult or even Sub-adult would need a 6 ft tank....I am sure we will hear from Campbell, maybe SrFisher and Peter will even join in the aggressive forum with an opinion.

I think that you definitely have a Juvi queen (2-5") in a 75-90 gallon. Once they reach about 6" or better a 125 would be sufficient as long as there are not too many inhabitants.

a 90 is ok for a short while but i would get the largest tank i could afford. When i upgraded from my 120 to 220 , i thought that would suffice. I love angels and definitely had to have more than one in a tank. Right now i have a queen and an emperor and would love to add blue face. I wish i would have bought a seven or eight foot tank instead .

If you got the 8 footer, you'd want a bigger one anyhow; an inevitable part of this wonderful addiction! I agree with the advice above and will only add: be very careful when adding an angel to a tank that already has one. Like people, sometimes they get along very well, sometimes not. For some reason; both IME and from what I've read, angels seem to mix better than they used to. Maybe we're just getting better at making them comfortable. I can remember when mixing species of angels was almost unheard of...except in huge tanks.
