Snail ID??

I have 3 of these snails that i can see...one this colour, one black and one redish brown. They all look the same except for the colour. I didn't buy them. Good, bad? Leave them or remove them? Thanks!

Nice pic...it's a chiton. Very good critters to have. Keep 'em!

It's a stomatella snail. A chiton is a segmented oval shaped critter.

yes and whats cool is they only reproduce to an amount thats needed in your tank

I agree, stomatella or cap snail. If you get a huge amount of them you can pickup some electric blue hermits to keep the population down.

Hmmm.
I happen to love Stomatella snails. I had a lot before my tank got wiped out in Hurricane Katrina. I also love electric blue hermits and have six large ones. Maybe that's why I haven't seen any Stomatella showing up in my tank apart from one that I saw for a few days and haven't seen lately.
You have first hand experience that this is a preferred prey item of the electric blue Mr. Bill?
