I just had one die only had it about 5 months but I think it was wild caught and pretty old because it had coral growth on it's shell and 5-6 small red feather dusters on it, I thought my saltwater hermit crab was trying to kill it to get it's shell but it was allready gone I managed to clean out his shell without killing anything growing on it, now I have a sort of live rock, the store I got it at only had the one when I got it now they have tons but there shells are clean so my next one should live longer! the growth on it's shell should have been a indicator of his age and it was not going to live long.
