Snail Question

Hello everyone,
I have just added inverts to my tank and they all came out running. I have snails already working the glass and a couple have made it near the top. My question is if they will crawl right out of the tank? I have an open top with canopy. Thanks!

I have had snails crawl right over the top of my bio cube and into the filter compartment, but mine have never crawled out of the tank alltogether.

I doubt it, once they crawl out they usually go back in after a few minutes or so.

I've never heard of a snail going carpet surfing. I wouldn't worry about them.

Thanks for the quick responses. You all seem to be right, a few of them moved quickly up the glass but they have all stopped at the top of the water and most of them have already headed back down. I just got these inverts from SWF today and they are all doing great and started doing there jobs as soon as i introduced them into the tank: Cleaner shrimp, peppermint shrimp, hermit crabs, astrea snails, cerith snails & nassarius snails.

heh grats on your cleaning crew i also just added some of mine tonight. i didnt see your thread but i posted the same question lol.. one of my nassarius snails thoguh seems to be all over the tank on the rocks, glass, even around the drain vent is that normal for those guys, all my other ones are buried in the sand.
