Snail questions?

I have had this salt water tank for about 6 months, I have a watchman goby, a strawberry, a damsil, and a Clown Fish. I also have these wierd invertabrets on my plants, a sea cucumber, and two snails. All of a sudden started getting snail eggs on the glass about a month ago I wiped most of them off becuase the lady at my fish shop told me they would not turn into anything. She said they can get so hard you have to get them off with a razor blade. Well they appeard again so I left them and now I have little swirls in the middle of the white dots and something growing off of them inside. Are these baby snails forming? If so do I need anything special for them? If not should I worry about the amonia levels that they might accumulate? Thanks Alot. Miranda

no those are not snails.
those are mini curly feather dusters.
i have those all over, and no you don't need to do anything for them.

And all the brownish tanish stuff growing around them should I wipe all that off so it stops spreading, or should I leave it? Also the worms are they bad or good? I am still new at the surprises. One day I will post a surprise that even the fish store lady was surprised at... haha :notsure:

haha yeah I am having alot of confusion being fed to me over wierd growths in my tank. I want to breed snails now I learned they lay eggs. I thought that these were snail eggs and reefer said they are curly feather dusters. I dont have anything but live rock and a live plan. This is not a reef tank its a basic newbie salt water experiment. Its about 6 months old now. Its very clean except for these stuff on the glass.

they are snail eggs. however i don't think they are benefitial snails, nor do i think them harmful either. i get a lot of them. i usually just leave them be until when i clean my tank glass.
don't kill my kin

What about the worms should I get rid of them? I noticed a brown stringy gross substance around those snail eggs is that normal... Oh yeah and the egg are no longer eggs in some instances they are little things about a centimeter long hanging off the glass with two little things on the end? ummm I dont know, have these become something, should I try to take a picture...?

the brown thingies are not anything snail related.
the white spots i see might be, but i can't be sure without a closeup
you should clean the brown stuff away

But whats the brown things hanging off the glass, those came out those white spots, I want to know what that is mainly and if its something I should worry about then... :help:

i am guessing they are either 1)some kind of sponge, or 2)some sort of feather duster. i get some in my overflow box.
i don't think they are harmful, however they are considered bad because they make a messy appearance

Thanks. I wonder where they came from cause I dont have anything but a live plant and some live rock. Hmmm. I still have the little snail eggs though and they have a cinnamin bun appearence. My camera does not zoom so I cant get the detail. The plant has been going wild the last few days too I wonder what is going on in my tank, its a growing mad house all of a sudden, could it be becuase its by a window now....???

To me it looks like the curly dots you get on your glass when you have excess nutrients in a tank that isn't established for a longtime yet. I wouldn't worry about them. The brown stuff is algae growth. That is normal in the beginning as well and through the life of your tank. There are ways to minimize it however. Go ahead and clean it off the glass. The white things also.
