Snails and Hermits In Fuge

I've noticed some of you put snails and hermits in your fuge. I guess I understand if you have a fuge that's visible as it would help with glass and sand.
Are there other good reasons to have them in a fuge?

i keep snails in my refugium even though it is not visible just to keep the algae on the glass down. Plus you have to remember that culepera needs to be trimmed every few months by hand. Hermits sometimes just to keep area clean and the sand bed moving.

I agree. My clean-up crew, as well as my LMB, keep my macro well trimmed so that I do not have to do it. In my fuge, I have 2 hermits, a few micro stars, 1 cowry, and 2 snails, as well as my lawm mower blenny.
