Snails and Snail eggs

I was sold these as nassarius, but someone local has told me they are some other "mud" snail. They like to escape the tank I can tell you that, and I have eggs all over the place (there is a string of eggs near the middle of the pic, looks like train tracks because of the reflection. Each egg sac is separate and about the size of a thumb tack head.
Please let me know if these snails might cause me problems later (besides the constant escapes).
Thanks

those are periwinkles, a type of tidal snail that you'll keep on flicking down until you decide the shells are worth more to your hermits than the effort to keep them in the water. they also can be ibex nassarius, but if they keep climbing out of the water they are neither tonga (the good ones) or ibex (the bad ones) nassarius snails.
those eggs don't look like tonga nass. snail eggs.

When i bought them I was supposed to get a mix of periwinkle and Nassarius snails. I got black ones and white ones, I was told the black were nassarius and the whites were periwinkles. The white ones are a PAIN IN THE BLAST and unfortunately my one hermit is too small, and the other is too big for the shells. The black ones seem to stay in the tank and they dig in the sand a LOT and when I had a fish die they COVERED the carcass and the hermits had to fight them off to eat.
I'll probably just deal with them until they are too much work ;)

funny, i would have told you the black ones were the perwinkles....
the black ones are IBEX nassarius snails...not the greatest for our tanks. you'll want tonga ones eventually

Honestly, they eat EVERYTHING on the substrate so they're good for this tank. I'm acquriing a 55 gallon this week so I'll be sure to get my snails from a better source.
