snails dying

All fish are fine, but everytime I buy snails they die. I place them on the sand and after a week I check them and they smell big time. I have gone through 6 snails, same result.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Joe

Joe, welcome to Saltwaterfish.com! Most likely the problem is starvation. What type of snails are you getting?
I'm going to move your topic over to the Reef Forum where I think you'll get more help.

I had the same problem and I was told the salt level was to low. It should be 1.026 you may want to check that.

Check for copper. Inverts are sensitive to any copper levels in a tank. Snails will be the first to go.

i dont know if this effects snails inparticular, but rapid salinity changes will kill inverts. If you are waiting to long to do top offs then dumping gallons of fresh water in that could do it possibly.
