Can anyone please confirm if these snails eat star fish.
I saw 4 of them on top of the star and within a couple of days my star fish is cut in half.

Those are a big variety of nassarius snail. No i dont think they would eat starfish. They are a good clean up crew.

I saw them on top of the Sand Sifting Star. I'm positive that the snails eat the star up slowly.

Your starfish was putting out that "dead meat" odor.

sand sifter stars tend to die in our tanks, I do not recommend another if one died already. Most will starve in less than 18 months, and can not be spot fed. If it died in less than a month, this was acclimation shock, and yo u should review your paramters and acclimation.
:( How big is your tank, and how long did you have the star?

My tank is 90gal. Maybe you are right the acclimation may be too fast and shock them.
Do you need to acclimation coral as well?
