Snails in a 30 gal

I have a 30 gal FOWLER with 2 Tomatoe clowns, a dottyback psuedochromis and Flame angel.....just wondering what a good size clean up crew is for a 30 gal tank, since snails come in groups of 5. Is 5-10 too many, does it vary between the different types?

what kind of "snails" are you looking to put in there? i would recommend getting one of the clean up or reef packages this site sells. another thing to do would be to see what they put in their different packages for a tank the size of yours, if you don't want to buy the whole package. if you look up the critters that they sell each one will have a bio next to it telling why it's beneficial to your aquarium.

A general rule of thumb that I have heard is snails + crabs = number of gallons.
So in a 30 gallon, you would want approximately 30 members in your clean up crew. Just add them slowly over time. HTH
