Snails With Legs Or What?

I have often gotten creatures on my live rock which look like a snail but have legs. Are these some type of harmless crab or what?

No these don't look like hermit crab,s they're smaller about the size of a penny if that big. Spiral shells, and feet. I don't know if they're good or not but about 4 of them came on the last piece of live rock I got.

Have you looked at the hitch-hiker sticky?? Check out the whelks.

Ok, they're whelks. I assume I should remove them from the tank then?

Whelks don't have legs do they? These critters in my tank have legs, not a botton like a snail. But the shells are shaped like a whelk.

I asked at the store where I purchased this live rock and they are little hermit crabs.
