Snails

Hello, my tank is about a month old. I have 30 pounds of live rock and sand. Fish include 2 chromis, bicolor angel, firefish goby, and a maroon clown. I just put some snails in the tank and it seems they are dying. They aren't moving at all and some of the hermits are feeding on one. Does anyone know why? I just did a water change yesterday.
Ammonia .25
Nitrate 10
Nitrite 0
PH 8.2
Thanks!

I am not positive about this but it might be due to the fact that there is nothing for them to feed on yet. If there isnt much algea and stuff for them to feed on. How long have u had them in the tank?

I've had them a little more than a day. I do have a whole bunch of brown algae on my rocks. That's why I got them.
Thanks for the quick reply!!!
Oh, is it natural for my water to be a little cloudy after a water change? It has been about 24 hrs.

I would also guess that your bioload is too high for a tank that new. This is probably the main cause. Your amonia should be zero, if not, so close it should almost be undetectable. Having an established tank and not overfeeding will most likely eliminate your amonia, along with the water changes you've been doing. Also, how long have you had the Bicolor? I had one for nine months until I decided to get rid of it. You might want to monitor the Bicolor carefully as they need a well-established tank. I am no expert but I am just trying to help. Hope this helps. Good luck.
